Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator

The Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of recruitment, screening, onboarding, engagement, and recognition of all UVFC volunteers, including the coordination of UVFC’s Tutoring Program, plus ongoing communication with program staff to ensure clarity. The Coordinator also works closely with the Development Team to implement successful fundraising campaigns, events, and donor activities. The Coordinator supports client engagement in UVFC’s Economic Success Program through front desk reception at UVFC’s Calistoga or St. Helena offices as needed, connecting anyone who calls or walks into our offices to the appropriate services or referrals. The Coordinator also supports our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, working closely with site managers to offer free income tax preparation services to clients and coordinate trained community volunteers. Community Educator, Immigration Program

The ideal candidate for this role enjoys working with the public, helping immigrants to access resources, keeping informed on immigration policy, organizing detailed information, and working collaboratively with others. The Community Educator supports UVFC’s Immigration Program by conducting direct community outreach activities to increase awareness about immigrant rights, benefits, and related services like citizenship classes. They coordinate with UVFC’s Immigration Program staff and partners to ensure outreach is effective. In addition, they provide general support for the Immigration Program, including managing client appointments, maintaining files, and tracking data. The Community Educator is also responsible for working with volunteer citizenship tutors to support individual students preparing for their citizenship exam. Youth Program Coordinator, CLARO

The Youth Program Coordinator supports the well-being of youth through individual and group services and coordination of prevention activities. The Coordinator leads a weekly mentoring group called CLARO (Challenging Latinos to Access Resources and Opportunities) for adolescent boys in middle and high school, and works in alignment with the Youth Program Coordinator for CLARA (adolescent girls). The Coordinator facilitates referrals to services for students and families, provides parent education, and conducts community education activities to prevent youth drug and alcohol use. The Program Coordinator works with colleagues to convene a broad-based coalition of stakeholders called the UpValley Partnership for Youth to execute on collaborative goals. The Coalition uses the collaborative strength of parents, youth, and community members to address, prevent, and combat problems relating to youth alcohol and marijuana use.
